So ummm - Got Ding?

Coming home off a job this evening - sitting in stop and go traffic - finished a phone call so there is no music on - when the Low Fuel light comes on and at the same time there's a "ding" . . . just once. Not loud - kinda like it didn't want to bother me.

Now I had my 01 for three years and 80K + miles - I've had this truck for two years and 40K miles - and this is the first time I have ever heard the "ding" . . .

So does everyone else have the "ding" and I'm just the last to know about it?

Thanks - I knew I wasn't crazy. I tried explaining this all to my wife last night and all she did was sit there with this blank stare on her face. . . mumbled something about a moron

I have to preface this by saying that my wife is not dim nor is she unaccustom to smart arse people...

I had to laugh out loud when I was reading this thread. She asked what was funny, so I read it to her. With a confused look on her face she looks at me and said. "So does that mean a ding is a bad thing? Dosent your truck do that?"

My answer before she caught on was "Yes dear. A ding is real bad. It means I'm loosing power and need to buy some stuff to fix it."

I have always heard that you can hear a ping or ding when when standing next to someone who dies. I think this could be the same!

You're right Barrett. I don't got ding. I got tone. Guess that makes me a flip-flopper.....guess living in Mass is wearing off on me.
