i belive the plow package includes a different rate spring (i did on the old
leaf spring front end yrs 99-04) and it included an additional "trans" cooler...

that said, i do NOT have the package on mine but i DO have the
trans cooler (i belive all 6.0's got the cooler)

MY 06 came with a factory plow prep package, I am also unaware of the upgrades to the truck vs not having the package. Im curious to know as well.

Found it...

On 07 models Ford list this:

1. Computer selected springs for snow plow application
2. 140 Amp Alternator W/ powerstroke
3. Unique Fan clutch with powerstroke for better cooling performance. (Maybe that's why this my 06 seems to run cooler that my 03????)

They also list :Rear auxilary springs, I assume that only applies to the F-250. for Salt spreaders, the 350 doesn't need the increase.

as for your first question - it looks like you found it. i was gonna post that very info.

as for your second question - as for pushin snow. uuummm heck yeah!!:sweet

that is 9' of fun. it will do some damage. and i rarely go 4L. way to much low grunt power. only for heavy deep wet stuff. and in MI it seems you may get more than me....-mad

p.s. fwiw: i do not have the plow prep pack.

Any Super Duty will have no problem pushing snow, but, just like almost any other mod, Ford may try to deny warranty repairs if they think a possible problem could be from plowing. I DO have plow prep on my truck.

fine: not so much. as in my case they are saying they could deny repairs due to the fact that i DO NOT have the plow prep package. As long as it came from the dealer with it installed, then there can be no 'void' issues.

I see what you mean. I was talking more about someone who added a plow to their truck after it left the dealer. I know my dealer won't try denying anything, but if they think a customer is trying to pull a fast one, they shut him down right away. When I ordered my truck, knowing I would be plowing with it, the dealer warned me that Ford has been known to deny repairs for problems they say are associated with plowing if the truck didn't have plow prep. You and me both know if you use your head, and don't run into curbs and whatever else, any PSD is a great plow truck, with or without plow prep. Hows the winter been going for you? We just got pounded the last couple days, plowing non stop:red . Nice money though!:thumbs
