"off road, brake checkers, deer, etc"
this happens and i cant stop fast enough i don't rip off my undercarriage. does anybody have any thing like this or is this a dyi on my own kind of thing

planning on one that goes from under bumper to near axle area,

Bear, I'm a little fuzzy as to the reason for the skid plate, but I can tell you that I have had many run ins with stumps, rocks, fence posts, and yes there might have been one or two cars. I have yet to find a manufactured skid plate that looks nice, doesn't hinder field repair, and is functional and worth buying. Good luck on the fab work. Unless you plan on jamming vehicles under your bumper and above your axle, a skid plate might not be what you need....????
