I don't know if I should trust you guys.

I went to my local dealer to finally have the CPS recall done and I asked a technical question. Well after several minutes of him telling me that he does not know the specific answer, he suggested googling fords owners forum. I said I would and check with everyone here for specifics.

He then tells me to be wary of other forums, they could lead you astray and make me hurt my truck. The forums at ford are moderated for correct info and anything defamatory would be removed.

So, can I trust you, or will you make me hurt my truck?

Welcome.......

You list of mods sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on things. I think most folks here will give you the straight-up what happened to them answers to your questions. There are a few guys on here that work at Ford dealers and some are independent mechanics, too. Most have good first hand knowledge of what works and what doesn't based on theory and PRACTICAL APPLICATION.

I don't think that anyone here will advise you to do things that will "hurt" your truck.

But -- I don't think that you should trust 100% of what ANYONE says. Make reasonable deductions based on the facts you know, and experience you have. The way you learn is based upon your experiences and results. If you just blindly trust what someone is telling you to do, often you don't learn WHY the things you are doing fix something.

trust no one. period. pretend you are hearing agent scully tell you this as you fall asleep each night. not even the tech who told you not to trust anyone.

modding any vehicle is a compromise between practicality and performance. you are on your own, or rather, in the same boat as most of us who have done the same. read up and make up your own mind.

I have been following this forum from its creation date and another big one a little longer than this one has been around. What I have seen through the years is that if someone gives bad advice that could harm your truck, others will be all over them in a nano second or so.
I have more trust of these guys than a lot of the experts at Ford. These guys here have no hidden agenda for the most part. I think the real experts are right here. ;tu
An example would be that the guys here knew about the CPS being junk long (years) before Ford admitted there was a problem with it.

Anytime you get information from others for anything, you need to do research and come to your own conclusions.
This site has some very nice people who share their knowledge and experience with others, but it is a unwise person that blindly follows others opinions.
