serpentine belt

Can anyone give me information on which pulley releases the tension on the serpentine belt?? Thanks

the one on the spring loaded arm... it's usually got a 3/8 square drive hole in it... and yes, it's so you can load it with a ratchet...

Thanks: Working on a F-550...6L.....

pull up on the belt and you will feel the belt release upwards, when you pull the belt up, there is a locking mechanizm on the underside of the belt tensioner, kinda hard to get to (especially at night, like when i had to change my alt.) lock the tensioner into place, and the belt will now have slack in it.

do the same thing to put it back to normal.
