Hey all, my first post........just found this site. Cool.

Question -- my '99 doesn't have an alarm. Is there a recommended fuse I could pull that would disable the truck in the event some punk tried to steal it? Okay, it was broken into Tues night, and now some punk knows for sure it's not alarmed.

It will sit for several days without either of us around much, then we use it for days at a time. That is easy to predict, so popping the hood and pulling a fuse that won't kill a computer or cause me to reset the clock, etc., would be fine with me.

Ideas?:thanks

Welcome to the board! I could help you rig up a primative theft deterant with just a relay or a relay and a switch! Let me know if your interested! Where are you located and what type of truck do you have?

OB NJ, land of traffic, stop lights, stop signs, a
set up a button located under the dash or something that needs to be depressed for the truck to turn on.... thats what my friend ended up doing in his 70 camero.... just make sure the buttons outta sight... or a battery shut off switch could help too....

Dj, thanks for the idea. Live in Albuquerque. '99 F350 Powerstroke, 4x4, crew cab, full bed.

Also, lived in Huntsville for several years. Inlaws still there. Annual Christmas trip back -- I do miss the water and green, but not the humidity!

if you go get a relay from a local stereo shop(should be cheaper go straight to an installer) or radio shack. make sure it has 5 terminal's and I can pm you a diagram. you could add a switch or make it where the park lights have to be on for the truck to start!
