A couple of quick questions for those that have dome the SMFW installation. I noticed that when removing the DMFW that there is what I'll call a "backing ring" that went between the flywheel itself and the flywheel mounting bolts (almost acting like an all-in-one washer for the bolts). Do I use it between the new flywheel and bolts? Also, what "flavor" of Loctite do I use on the flywheel bolts? I've got Blue, Red, and Green (although it is the self-wicking type). Thanks & Cheers!

I cant answer the SMFW question but either blue or red should work fine on the glue, I dont have any experience with the green stuff but the research I did on it says its a medium strength agent for bolts upto 1/2". I dunno, I'd go with the red or blue.

Well, it's in and seems very nice so far. I'll have to get used to the soft pedal feel after driving the stocker for 200k (almost stuck my foot through the floor!). It is very smooth. Cheers!

Patrick, what did you do about the spacer ring? How much rotational play did you have in your DMFW? I checked mine about a month ago and had an inch of play at 124k. Glad you got it in.

I used the backing ring in the same orientation as it came off the stock setup as I figured it couldn't hurt and would probably spread the bolt loading a bit. I also used the blue loctite on both the flywheel and clutch bolts. My stock flywheel play was probably just over an inch. The were a couple of busted-up plastic spring retainers and some worn springs where they had been contacting the secondary mass. Cheers!
