Buddy of mine has an '01 X and was loosing power and some other issues. After a new tranny"they claimed it was shot" he put his scanner on and found the VSS was bad-mad . Kept the tranny he bought and got his old one back. Still loosing power after 200 miles after fuel fill up. Found air leak between tank and pump. Better but still not fixed. Pulled tank, every thing plugged with rust in his plastic tank. Cleaned out rust and problem solved. Where did the rust come from:confused: .

He bought it used and found out later the PO was having problems they couldn't solve. Farm tank with out filter mabye or fuel station with their filters removed. Does anybody sell a drain plug kit for plastic tanks? Was wondering if others were finding rust in tanks.
