The ECM sets the MAX RPM's. You can floor a diesel and hold it all day if you want to. It will rev up to the limiter and stop. Don't believe me?? Try it. Just floor it.

Hi Dave,

Once you set up an extreme position on some programers and chip burns, I beleave your "safe" mode disapears from the ECM, I know I could keep going on the Tach if I had "Big OIL", but do to loss of fuel preasure I peg out at around 3750 with aload.

I should have added that I do not have any Chips or programmers, so I can't try it. It sounds like you are running into defueling at the max rpm.
