rounded the CPS bolt - help !

So Gentlemen, despite all the warnings in previous posts, I was able to round the bolt of CPS. Itmust have happened to someone else as well. So how did youget it out ?
Giving the block around CPS some heat ? Does the CPS melt ?
Replacing everything from the front and drill it ? Major job.
Or did you turn the metal under the bolt with the bolt ? Do you still get the new CPS to the right position ?

Lucky me the CPS was still ok. I was about to change it "just in case". So truck is usable. But have to fix it soon - as now it would defenitely brake as the bolt is rounded. Just for bad luck.

sears, snap one tools, mac etc and a few others make a socket with reverse cut sharp teeth that will grab the out side of the bolt head.
it looks like a bunch of razor teeth inside it , comes in different sizes

I agree with powerboatr also. These sets are $10-$20 and extract the bolt easily. I've seen the sears sets for $10.

Yep, what the others have said. I'd spray a little penitrating oil on or maybe dribble some Diesel on it.. a couple hours before you start on it (?).

I would try the bolt out first, however it only rounded mine off more.
I had to remove the fan and shroud and beat a 9mm socket on the cps bolt.
I used neversieze on the new bolt.

Ok Gentlemen
I finally got the time to get the CPS changed.
It took me a good five hours. I loosened the fan, drained the coolant to get the radiator hoses out of my way on the bottom, tried to lift the radiator out, but found out that it has the trans oil in it as well, so didn't touch that. Then I used Dremel - the small drill with flexible extension cord and reshaped the bolt to get edges to it. Then I used the bolt out which our fellow member from Georgia sent to me.
And - finally bolt out, CPS out and new one with new bolt ( with 12 mm end ) in.
While waiting the radiator to drain, I drilled a hole in front of the intake tube behind the grille as well to get better air flow.

After 200 miles my computer shows a bit better milage, but it might be due to the fact that sping came here and temperature raised above freezing.
