About 2-3 months ago I was checking a roaring noise coming from my truck. My rear diff. fluid was BAD low and gunked up. I had it changed. While the lube place had the rear diff. cover off they showed me where the ring and pinion had some wear on it and said I would prob hear some chatter back ther. Now, driving yesterday from Pollock, LA to Brilliant, AL it feels like I can feel a scrubbing through the gas pedal along with the roaring. I also thought it could be my brakes as my e-brake does not engage properly. The e-brake light does not come on and it will not hold my truck. I have accidently forgot about my e-brake being engaged a couple of times because theres hardly any resistance and there's no light. But when it is engaged and I'm in reverse, I can feel a "bump" after rolling a couple of feet. What do ya'll think?

I think you have a hunk of e-brake material rolling around in the top hat of the rotor..

I'd be at least digging it out of there before it locks the wheel..

Ok. I'm having it put up on the rack today to fix/replace my sway arm bushing and bracket. I'll have them to check it out while its up there.

Had them to check the brakes after welding my sway-arm-bracket back together. They pulled off my rear driver side tire and the pads were soaked from gear oil. I had suspected an axle seal leak for a little while but the differential was holding fluid pretty good for at least the past 2 months. They took the axle and bearings out. The bearings were pitted and oil was burnt up around the axle shaft. They replaced all of the bearings and it sounds about 50% better and even acclerates better.

I think I may have found what the scrubbing noise was. They took out my front driver side hub and spun it around and it rattled when it spun. Does anyone know if this is suppose to be a smooth spinning part or if it is suppose to have some roughness to it?
