My truck 2001 SD has sealed beam headlights and they last only about a year. Anybody know of a good replacement head light?
I'm guessing you have a "work" truck if you have the sealed beam headlights. I've never had any luck in the past with GE sealed beam headlamps, seemed like they never lasted very long. I've found that Sylvania or Wagners lasted much longer.
Is it possible to convert to the headlamps that have the replaceable light element?
I changed my OEM early 99 headlamp housings and put these ICPW headlamp housings
I also added a headlamp harness that provides power with less voltage drop to the headlights direct from the batteries via heavier gauge wires. It resulted in noticably brighter illumination.
Lastly I added some Silverstar headlight bulbs that I picked up from Walmart. The combination of these made a HUGE IMPROVEMENT in the effectiveness of my "forward illumination system".
