Well, replaced them as well as the axle shaft dust seal. I noticed there is a seal/bearing on the backside of the hub between the hub and axle, what is it's purpose and should it have any play?

I thought the balljoint was my problem, but I still have a grating noise/feel when I take left turns as well as a clunking noise/feel when I hit certain bumps. I think it is more pronounced because my shocks are almost wore out, but it can't be good. It also happens intermittently while driving straight and is gone in a few seconds.

Any thoughts on either of these?

I'll check that. They aren't that wore out, to the point that the truck bounces, but it does sag to the left.

And the intermittent grating noise that I can feel in my floor pans?

bad shocks wont make a truck sag they keep your springs from recoiling after bumps. The springs are what keep the truck level. How many miles are on your shocks? They last about 50,000 miles, but you should check them after 25,000 miles.

clunking

there is a small needle bearing in the hub that suports the outer axle shafts in the hub. thye are lame and dont like to be messed with they will go bad and wear on the axle when they do. and the axle will flop around in there when you hit bumps and make a cluckety noise. they sway bare bushings where it hooks to the rods that conect it to the frame can go out also.

I also thought to replace the shocks, but I don't want to until I fix the problem, the good shocks will make it harder to pinpoint. As for the springs, is it normal for a diesel to sag after 192k miles? The build date is Sep 98, so could it be possible they put F-150 front springs not made for a heavy diesel?
