Hey all. I need advice. I had my water pump replaced recently (warranty), and was advised here to think about new t-stat (203) and coolant filter system. I'm in middle of that install and to my surprise, the plug on the water pump that needs to be removed (for supply line to filter) has a square socket that is NOT 3/8". What the hey?

I've dorked around the web and 3 part stores today, and here's what I think I probably need:
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...id=260&supersede=&store=snapon-store&tool=all

that is a 8mm square "male" head on a 3/8 adapter.

Anybody got another source? I haven't seen a snap-on truck run by out here in the sticks lately!!!-mad I guess I could grind a 3/8 down?

Thanks in advance.

Try Nana or one of the other good parts houses for the 8mm square drive extension. These motors are metric.

Dave - do you mean NAPA? What is a *good* parts house on a Sunday morning, I'm wondering! Thanks!

Napa is an auto parts store with stores all over the western US at least. Our auto parts stores are open on Sunday here. Sorry if you don't have that option.
