I have a 2002 7.3 excursion that has had a rough couple of weeks. We were running fine with a super chips tuner on gas saver mode. It died on us last week all of the sudden. We reset the codes with the tuner and took it to our mechanic. Replaced the cam sensor. Thought the problem was solved. Died again this week. Let it set for a bit. Cranked back up. Any ideas? We will be running down the road and it just drops out like someone unplugs something. Let it sit over night. Cranks right back up. Thanks guys. Mechanic is doing all he can to figure it out too. He is thinking it could be the PCM. Anyone else had any trouble with one?

The CPS (Cam Position Sensor) is the biggest problem on these trucks. Do not have the mechanic change the PCM, unless he is SURE this is the problem, they rarely go bad. How many miles on the truck and what weight of oil are you using?

Check the oil and make sure you have the proper level on the stick. The HPOP (High Oil Pressure Pump) drives the injectors and no oil = no injector firing.
