Started raining late afternoon yesterday and by this morning we had 8.5-9 inches. Rained all day till just after supper. Areas could have as much as 11-12 inches. Might have to test the fording depth tommorrow morning just to get to work. Water is across our driveway and rising and state and county roads are blocked in spots from washouts and flooding. This one is for the record books. Can't find a sump pump within 50 miles. basements are flooded in town, and just about every town in area has clean water and sewer problems.

Town of Truman just 15 miles east of us had 14 inches. Our bridge can't handle the water and its washed out a section of the driveway at least 3-4 ft deep. Water is still running over. Farmers just started harvesting so it puts an end to that for weeks.

would you mind sending some of that rain down here our retention ponds are 3-4' yes feet low and many are bone dry that should have water year round.

Hope all works out well for you and your neighbors.

WOW, that's a lot of rain. Hope you all are dried out by now. Here in the Dallas area, we've gotten around 8 inches for September which is about 4 times as much as the usual 2 inches for the month. This was because of two different tropical storms that hit South Texas/Northern Mexico and we were on the "business" (East) side of the storms. I've already mowed my lawn twice this month, and it's needing to be mowed again, which is very unusual for September.

We're drying out but now downstream which is really northeast toward Minneapolis, St. Paul is getting flooded out along Minnesota river heading to the Mississippi then south. Get ready another week or two might see a rise down south.
