My F350 runs on vegetable oil so I need it to heat up more quickly. I always carry a light or no load. I plan on sliding a piece of flat alumnum flashing between the A/C radiator and the radiator to cover up about 80% of the radiator. Actually I have already done this with cardboard for three days and the temperature has not risen above its usual max- even in slow traffic or at 70 MPH.

Does anyone have advice or input on my plans?

An easier fix to aluminum flashing is getting foam pipe insulation and cutting pieces of it to cram into the grill openings. This way you can add/remove any amount of insulation to get the proper air flow without sacrificing heat loss.

I picked up the winter front and summer bug screen as a pair from Max at Canvas Craft located in Minnesota, they're great people to deal with:sweet I opted for the velcro "Hook & Loop" style mounting versus the metal snaps.

Another alternative is Alaska Tent & Tarp they have well manufactured products,I'll assume SDD staff member "Crumm" is familiar with them up there
