I have my new computer all up and running but have three questions.

1.Can my contacts from Outlook Express be moved to the new computer without re-entering them all manually?

2. Can my Favorites from Internet explorer be moved?

3. I installed AVG but then my email would not work even if I disabled the email scanner. I had to unistall it and use the Norton and McAfee that came with the computer. I have had good luck with the AVG but I need to be able to get my email. Any idea what to do to make it work? Can't get tech support from AVG on the free edition.

number 2 yes
give me a few to remember how, as contractor we do it quite regularly. I believe its under windows explorer, copy favorites to a jump drive or disc.
for
go to documents and settings
of your primary drive

for example:
mine are on the C drive under
documents and settings (my name )
then the "favorites" icon should be there
right click the icon to open the dialoge box then send the files to a drive or jump or disc

as for number 3:dunno
outlook i beleive is similiar but I cant find it right now sorry, i know it will come to me in a few, but by then you will have found it

Don't know about AVG - and your Favorites question was answered.

As for your contacts - open explorer and do a search for *wab - that will be your address book. Copy it to the new computer. You should then be able to use the import function in OE.
You can also get all of the emails - sent, deleted, saved, whatever - but would need to know what OS you were running to be able to tell you where to start. It can also be a huge file.

In Outlook you export them to a CD or a floppy and Import them to the New Outlook. Works great. I keep a copy on a disc for that eventuallity.
