Easy if you have the Tap :) haha

But yea 10 mins to drill and tap. No welding needed

drill and tap the manifold (drivers side) near the firewall...
its the best & most accurate reading...its where mine is
now (and 99% are)

I did the band clamp on my OE down pipe...it worked, but its a
piss poor location (for picking up EGT's)

Dip the bit in some grease before drilling. This will catch most if not all shavings. Those things are ROUGH on a turbo.

yup PRE TURBO is the most accurate & the best reference point
when talking to others (since if nothing else thats where 99% of
folks install 'em anyway).

Ive run the probe both post turbo (in the down pipe using the
band clamp) and now PRE turbo in the manifold...the manifold
(pre turbo) is where you want it.

as for the filings...and greasing the bit/tap...it wont hurt...but
the majority of the filings will fall DOWN away from the
manifold anyway...AND they are very small / fine bits of cuttings...
i bet youll see more damage to the compressor wheel using
a "free flow" airfilter than you would from the filings.

Isn't it possible to use the fitting at the front of the driver's side manifold?

I thought I had read that the sender (sensor) at that location was no longer needed after a certain update. If so, you have a no drill installation.

If true, I need to do it myself.
