Ordered the new Ranchos on 7/31 but with Surgery in the neck on 8/05 it kinda had me laid up and all I could do was look at the new shocks laying in the shop. Middle son Dylan came in and decided it was time to put the Ranchos on for me. I didn't get the tire rotation I was planning on doing but didn't mind that at all as I really wanted the shocks installed. I was really surprised how the original Motorcraft Ranchos were worn out but they did have 93K on them. My suspension was only the leaf springs as there seemed to be no dampening by the old shocks at all. The new ones make the ride much smoother. Got a truck wash out of the deal as well.

Thanks Dylan! ;tu

I put the factory Ranchos in my truck and noticed a big difference over the plain stock shocks. Seem to handle better. My originals were wore out at 50K but they hold a plow and sand most of the time in the winter.

Did you use the 5000s or the 9000s? My front shocks were worn worse than the rears but probably from carrying that PSD around for 6 years. Mine just started giving me a lot of problems over the last 4 months, noticeably noise from one of the bushings falling out on front right. I know a lot of folks on here recommend the Bilstens (smoother ride :stir) but for the price and the lifetime warranty I went back with the Rancho 5000s.
