It has been determined by a few of you and I agree, that my low boost psi (16) with an 80 hp off road superchip and DIY intake is being caused by my exhaust leak behind the turbo whee the y pipe connects. I have been told that it may be easier to pull the transmission and go in from the bottom.

Anyone have any experience in this fix.

Thank's in advance.

If you have a transmission jack and a concrete pad to work on then with the appropriate tools it should take you no more than 3 hours to remove the transmission however long to fix the exhaust leak and another 3 for installation.

I've had my trans out too many times to count in the rebuild process and trying to patch things before rebuilding. The first time it came out it was about 3 hours, now I'm down to around 1:30.

If this is why you are fixing the exhaust leak I think you are doing right by fixing it but barking up the wrong tree.

I had exhuast coming out of the y pipe like no ones business, soot all down the tubes and I was still making 24psi with a chip. I replaced the gaskets and removed my chip (plan on doing a programmer instead later on) and I can now only make 16 (which is what I heard was about right for stock)

If I were you, I would try to do the y pipes from the front by removing the turbo, then you can inspect the turbo also.
