I've got a 2001 7.3L 4x4. I want to change the original exhaust system, but need some advice on the type and brand. What are the pros and cons between 4" and 5"? And should I go with single or dual exhaust and what size?

Run with a 4" and go single. 5" is really for guys pushing over 600+ HP.

I had a 5" from summit racing it was fine for the truck and cost about 400bucks. I could not see dropping 6 to 8 hundred for something under the truck work truck.

4" is plenty. 5" wont hurt anything but save your money for another mod for yer truck. I love my MBRP full exhaust. I have the 4" turbo back smokers kit that came with stacks. I love it, nice sound and really helped my truck. If yer state allows it, cut that muffler off and either leave it off or put a free flowing muffler on it. I dont have a muffler on mine anymore and it really helped. Pay the extra money for the stainless steel. Well worth it, especially if they use salt on the roads where you are at.
