I must be getting to be an old fuddy dudy or something but I am tired of the smoke. My chip(3 position)currently has Bill's programming. The receipt from Bill dated 5/9/03 says 35,60,85hp. In the 35 position I get just a little smoke but the power is not quite enough. On the 60hp position I get a quite a bit of smoke(too much for me)but the power is nice. In the 85hp position all I get is a bunch of smoke and no more power than the 60hp position. I know things have changed in the chip world since Bill was programming over two years ago. What programming is good nowadays for power without the smoke? When I tow my Jetboat down to the river I just don't like covering it in smoke. I would not mind the high setting making some smoke. I would like to go stock/max hp without smoke/get on down the road for the three positions. What do I need for programming?

Crumm,

You're not being and ole fuddy duddy. Most people don't like to get smoke all over their nice beautiful boats or 5th wheels at that matter. What you need is a program with the least amount of fuel that can be called for. For instance we have a 20hp tow for those that tow in elevation. Helps with the amount of smoke caused by thinner air, etc. Reduces the amount smoke considerably. You may also see lower EGT's with it as well while towing.

Hope this helps.

Really
can you guys cut one to do the following
1. drop the NO FUEL pause when you mash the go pedal from a dead stop
2.keep tq converter locked down to 40 mph , especially like when you jump off throttle in traffic, it would be great if the tq would stayed locked up
3. fix the weird shifting at moderate throttle
4. still tow my18k rating
thanks
Robert

Egt's with Bills programming is not a problem at all. Can you reprogram Bills chips? I remember something a while back about chip people not messing with other peoples chips?

Robert,

With your 6.0l we can not do a chip. We offer the SCT XCAL2 for the 6.0l and custom programs will be available within the next few weeks. What you are asking about would be considered customized tuning.

Hope this helps.

Crumm If you're turning into an old fuddy dudy then I'd hate see what I'm like when I hit 30 since I really don't care for the smoke now especially in my daily driving routine or when I'm towing. I could deal w/ the light haze of smoke @ high boost high throttle settings w/ my ts 100hp chip & stock injectors but it's a touch on the smoky side w/ the stage 1 injectors. When I'm have the change for a new chip I'll be calling Dp Tuner.
