This is similar to the post about the locks below. Neither door lock works with switch or with keyless. The only thing that works on the keyless is the panic button.

ABS light is off when I first start the truck, but it seems when I hit the brakes for the first time the ABS light comes on and stays on.

Cruise control does not work at all.

Is it normal for the OD light to blink if I am not wearing my seatbelt.

I know this truck has problems but I got a GRRRREAAT deal on it. The way it looks makes up for all the little gremlins. Any insight to these problems would be great. My brother works at a shop and he said it was the cleanest 7.3 he had ever seen.:D

The door locks are the actuators. The ABS Light, check the pads and the fluid. IT could either be low on fluid, or more likely, the pads are worn. I don't know about the OD light, but it could be a signal that somethign more significant is wrong. You might want to take it to a mechanic that can check the confuser. If all else fails, some Autozones can check your codes.

Excuse my ignorance but does it have a check engine light that would signify the codes if it was throwing any? Or is the light called something else?

I guess the pads would explain why the beast is so hard to bring to a stop getting off of the highway (grinding noise maybe)

Any suggestions on GOOD pads?

the check engine light isnt the only thing that generates codes...
there are TWO commonly refered to "lights" the CEL/SES and the MIL
check engine light or Service engine soon & malfunction indicator light.

one will be set for emissions ONLY codes the other for other codes.

its possible to have codes stored and NOT have an SES or MIL light
turned on.

some of this also depends on the state that the vehicle was produced
FOR...california trucks turn MIL lights on when other "state" trucks wont.

oh no. I bet that's not cheap for those big rotors.
Any suggestions on pads?

Do I need to take it to a dealer and have them check it for codes? Does Ford have certain shops that are rated better than others? Is it called Blue Oval Certified?

I JUST put drilled and slotted rotors and Hawk LTS pads on mine this week. HUGE difference in pedal feel and braking action.

You can look through your rims at the rotors and see if there are any chatter marks, or anything else wierd, on them.
