not to sure. Would like to find out tho. I just bought a xandrex inverter and every one I was talking to said that the start up on AC units would kill any inverters. So.... I put in another window. Next year I will hard wire shore power to a AC unit, but would like to know if yours works!

To find the power requirement of your AC unit; amps X volts = watts, so 15 X 115 = 1725 watts. That is the running power required. The starting can be a lot higher, like 2200 watts to be safe. If you get a big enough inverter it will work, but it will kill a smaller inverter.

....And not to mention the 12v Battery (and Alternator) capability it would take for 2200 watt Starts, and then to Carry.. a 1725 Watt load, for any length of time ?

I'm think'n GENERATOR. (could be used for other needs too?)

And if used In Motion.... WOW :dunno

I was thinking the samething. My bother was using a inverter on his van and was roasting batteries left and right just powering computer for his work. I got a Champion 3500 Watt Generator for my 5ther and it's great, it quiet and it powers the A/C and everything inside too. It about 400 bucks.

Ok ok , next thought then, I have my work generator, 5500w running , now will that over heat in the van, and yes I would run the exhaust out side some how.

I hate to keep shoot'n holes in yer thoughts BUT.. Engine Heat, Oxygen depletion and Noise.. would need to be considered ?
