I've got 3 project F-bodies....'69 Firebird that was started to be turned into a tube chassis car but the guy ran out of money, '71 Firebird needs everything, and '77 Starlight Black 4spd Formula that needs floor pans and full resto. I'm thinking about selling the 69 sheetmetal thats left and back half the '71 making a Formula "clone" with a 428 topped with #16 heads.
I'm not sure if you've seen the '76 50th Anniversary T/A in the pics banner, that's my buddies that I welded pans into.

carfefull with the 16 heads on a 428.i had a 428 with 16s on it.pinged so bad it broke the rings.it had like 12.5:1 compression.

on the 428, .035 over with .040 head gaskets I should be alright. I had a buddy that had a 78 WS6 4 spd 400 car that he put 16s on, blew head gasket a couple times at the track.
Ya I know about the pontiac sites. Just keep my mouth shut over there.

classical pontiac aint that bad,its the others.for thehell ofit i stuck a set of 62s on my old 389.it was half dead and was right before i got the 428.i ended up wipeing the rings right out of it.it would use 2 quarts of oil in 30 miles

Can you say mosquito fogger! The guy with the 76 tells me about his Lemans that he had in his younger days, pretty much the same thing. He said he bought oil by the case often cuz it was easier than stop boozin and save to fix it.

for 3 weeks till i got the 428 thats how i got rid of the used oil from the shop.used to carry it in the trunk in gallon jugs

i dont have my 428 anymore.i blew it up.took it out to bring back to the builder to be redone and it got stolen and no i dont wanna talk about it.im now running another 389 and working on gettin a 455

I've got a 455 that needs a sleeve to make a .030. You can't have my other one that'll hone .005 to be a .035 428.
