Been kinda a slow winter as far as plowing goes. Iowa has had alot more snow this winter that us. The truck was ordered in Jan. of 06 and was finally delivered in Oct. of 06. It takes awhile to mount the box and all the plow equipment. It cost around 130k. The plates are on top because of the stuff hanging on ether end would block them. And it isn't a 6x6.

I'd hate to be a car stranded on the road
when that thang came plowin' by.

Have to disagree.. Been there done that at 2am this morning. Broke down at 2am and 4.5 hours later a vehicle finally came by and gave me a ride to the State camp. They fired up a plow truck just about like that one and came out and drug me off the road. Since it was about -42º I would have to say that I would have loved to see that thing come by much sooner than it did.

f100cleveland does that truck have flat or curved windshields? Plow driver this morning was telling me that there trucks with flat windshields stay clear and the curved ones are always covered with ice. They had just fabbed up a big Plexiglas shield mounted on the hood of one to see it they could keep it clear. I believe it was a International and he said the wipers and windshield design are giving them real trouble.

It has a curved windshield. We have found out that very little heat in the cab and using frost shields on the inside helps. We also run heated washer fluid.

A frost shield is a piece of plastic that comes in different sizes and shapes to fit side windows or windshields. They have a strip of glue around the edges and dimples in the middle to keep the plastic off the glass. You apply them to the inside and they work like a double pane window.
