I am doing some engine upgrades and wondered if anyone has experience w/ one of the "big oil" HPOP systems out there? Also any warnings. "Terminator, Stealth or BTS"???

I don't have big oil, but I can tell you it will be one of the best mods you can do for your truck if you want big power. The 'area under the curve' will increase dramatically and your smoke output will drop substantially.

I've only seen BTS setups - both are on BIG HP trucks.

Welcome to SDD!

I have a Stealth System and it's the best mod I've done to my ride!:sweet No problems either.

I've seen and ridden in a truck with BTS oil. At the time it was at around 425ish HP. Nice system with a hefty price!

All the systems mentioned will do what they are designed to do. What exactly do you want to know? I sure hope with a first post like this you are not trying to start a pissin' match.:nono:

No pissing contest intended

No "pissing" conteset intended! I wanted to here from people who have EXPERIENCE with one of the systems. With the popularity of diesel now days, there are alot of companies touting to have the best products. I know most of the intel is subjective, but I don't want to purchase an oils system that does not have a customer base under it's belt. It's not like they are cheap!!!. I have an early 99' 7.3 changed the turbo to a garrett B-Bearing, 75 HP injectors, APR studs, head and valve work, intake and exhaust, Hypermax intercooler, water injection, and various other mods. I started down this road because I am running out of oil pressure at the top end. I was speaking to a gentelman (custom programmer) who warned me off of one of the systems. He said that the truck dies when you let off the gass from a hard throttel!?. I am trying to figure out if it a program problem or a hardware problem. I guess the systems are multi-generational by now with improvements. Does your "Stealth" system have the dual IPR's? Have you experienced the same problem? What about hose stability? I'm hearing nightmares about hoses comming apart. Very interested to hear all you can share with me! Thanks!!

Glad you are looking for info from those with first hand knowledge!:sweet

I'm running single IPR at the moment with no problems after lifting the throttle. Jody programmed for it though. I had to run the pumps with my old Edge Evo and RPMs would dip after lifting when coming to a stop but never died. The DI chip that isn't prgrammed for "oil" had problems with it stalling on lift and I didn't have to be on it hard for it to do it. It flat out died several times.

When I talked to Jody about IPRs he said he can program for 1 or 2 but he had talked to someone with hyrdraulics background and to his knowledge the single IPR could not dump the flow needed with 2 pumps. I will eventually run 2 IPRs when I can get around to it.

The person I bought my Stealth from went with a Terminator pump and he had a problem with the stalling on both a DI and DP chip. Don't know if he got it figured out since now he's blown a head gasket. It's an OBS truck if that matters.

The BTS oil truck I rode in didn't have a stalling problem and that was back before the "oil" craze and had some of the first "oil" programming. BTS uses 2 IPRs.;)

As far as hoses, my high pressure hoses are 2 drivers side stock hoses. I don't worry about them failing any more than any other PSD should. I don't worry about the steel balance tube or low pressure supply hose rupturing at all.

HPOP

I think I'm going to go w/ the "Stealth" and the dual IPR's. I am also going to change the fuel hoses to flow thru the heads from both sides. I will also be installing a perfromance spring for greater fuel pressure. I'm not sure about the custome program, but I'm sure eventually I will. In addition, I am investing ( I say that because that what I think clean oils is) with the FS2500 by pass oil system. I'm hearing great things about it. If you can think of anything else with the stealth, please let me know. Thanks again.
