Well.....I went to test the a/c the other day and it works, but I can't get my controls to switch it to the panel vents. I can switch between defrost alone, the floor alone or the defrost and floor together, but I can't get it to come out the panel vents.

Any suggestions? I checked my vaccum hoses going to the hubs and they are fine (I was told to check there first for leaks).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :thumbs

You have got a vacuum leak somewhere. Check all of the vacuum lines, like under he hood. Good Luck finding it.

If you have the electronic shift on the fly(ESOF) system your 4x4 selector switch operates off the same vacuum as your HVAC.

Check the vacuum pump. Do you hear it operating when you turn the key to the start position?

Check the lines that run down to the hubs..............very common for them to dry rot and cause a leak. In the picture it is the one on the right.

Other things to check...............the oring seal on the hub(see pic).

Also hoses under the hood...........hoses under the dash.........etc.

just to elaborate on this a little. from what i was told by a tech. - a way to definitly determine a leak is to put it into 4hi and then drive on bare pavement while turning, if you do not hear the 'binding' you'd expect to hear while 4 wheel is engaged you do have a leak. as to where, that is the fun part.. perhaps taking in is the option..it could be anywhere..
good luck
