well, it didn't go as I had HOPED, but then again, we were up against some of the top breeders in the United States and Canada... I know some people that either didn't go, or scratched when they got there, because of the outstanding competition we were up against...
I really have to hand it to my daughters, though... they went in there and took their lumps, and came away with the experience it takes to win... they're Champions in my book...
we'll get 'em next time...
now that I've had time to recover, winterize the RV, and start planning for next year, I feel better..
Actually, the worst thing about the whole weekend was the weather... I normally loose one weekend out of bow season to a wintery mix of crap, and in a way I'm glad that it didn't interrup my hunting, but on the other hand, it made five days stabled in a tent, with lousy lighting, non-existant facilities, and no way to dry out/off, just absolutely MISERABLE.
And that campground just BLOWS, too. Electric but no water, no sewer (not even a pump service), no stabilized fill (it's basically a hayfield they planted orchard grass in)... had to push my RV up a hill backwards to park & camp, and after the rain all weekend, I got the damn truck stuck getting it out... our farrier was there, and I had to hook to his D.. D.. Do.. DODGE with 50 feet of chain and a snatch 'em strap to get out... my best revenge was the eight inch deep ruts I left... screw 'em. If they wanna pack RV's in there like that, they need to think the layout a little better, and lay down about 5,000 yards of 23a in the RV lanes...
