Ok, I know this is pretty weak for a tech question, but it is all I have right now.

While on a trip this last week, I noticed that the outside air temp display was WAY off. At various points it was off anywhere from a couple of degrees to almost 30* (reading 65* when the outside air temp was approaching freezing). It seemed to be at its worst when the conditions were wet.

Anyone know where the sensor is located and if there are any particular issues?

This is for a 2000 F350 DRW CC Lariat.

I know there's an OAT sensor in the airbox (turn it 1/4 turn and then it should pull straight out), but I'm not sure if the overhead display gets its signal from there or from somewhere else...

yep, you will see the sensor if you look into center section of the front grill. It will be to the drivers side of the radiator/intercooler etc.

If it was faltering most when it was wet, follow the lead that budro suggested and see if the wire is chaffed anywhere along the way.
