The truck will not start. It "tries" to turn over, but is really weak. Thought it was the batteries....took them to Autozone and they tested fine....even had one of them charged. Still have the same problem.....I get one crank, maybe two, and then "clicking" from the starter. Do you think the starter is the problem? If I got a code reader from Autozone, would a bad starter throw a code? I'm at a loss, since the symptons indicated bad batteries, but they aren't the problem. Something electrical?

:thanks

Clean the battery cables good and check the ground terminal to the chasis.
Also check the hot wire connection to the starter. Make sure all connections are good and clean.

Thanks, Tbar!
I should posted more info, but I have tried those things. Terminals are VERY clean, now and the connection to the starter seems fine.

Starter would not throw a code. It does sound like the starter is dying/dead.

solenoid, passenger inner fender. Have you ever jumped one with a screw driver?

I have not, but at this point I'm willing to try. I just want to figure out what it is, so I can fix it. :(

Does one jump the solenoid by laying a screwdriver across the two bolts on top of it?

How much for a new starter and/or solenoid?
