Was reading the news blogs this morning and found an article that was about police radar speedtraps and such. In the article it had a link to Trapster® - Speed Trap Sharing System which I've already added my fair share of radar locations to the grid :sweet

Myself I find it kinda cool:)

I find that staying within 6 or 7 mph of the speed limit keeps me out of trouble. When I clicked the link and read I thought great another way for people to get away with driving like idiots but then I read "If someone slows down because of it, it's accomplishing the same goal of trying to get people to obey the speed limit" which was written by
Bill Johnson - Executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations so I guess it is sorta OK. Just as long as there is a speed trap every mile ;)

Our county must have been short on cash this month.

They have fielded LOTS of Sheriff and Constables shooting radar the last few days.

The wildest speed trap I have ever seen was in Cobb County in GA, just north of Atlanta.

I was goin' southbound on I-75 headed to Atlanta, when I saw a county mounty on top of overpass shooting at the on coming traffic.

On ground level were no less than 7 or 8 officers ready in their cruisers to go after the speeders.

maryland does stuff like that...w/ LASER !

Wildest use of radar i ever saw was a Louisiana state trooper on
the i10 atchafalaya bridge (21 miles long)...he had his trunk and
hood open...he was standing in front of the cruiser (that looked
like any other broken down car...cause you couldnt see the
light bar on the roof w/ the trunk open)....

he would step out from in front of his car...point the radar gun
into traffic and then step back in front of the car to hide....then
he was radio-ing up ahead to 1/2 a dozen or so cars that were
flagging the speeders over !
