Nice sunset pic Robert, sure will be nice to retire someday as well, I just hope I live long enough to do it. Until then I will have to take sunsets such as these two, which is the view out my office here at work.

Hey Robert;

You are right on..

When shopping and the clerk says "have a nice day"
I say:

Everyday is a great day when you are retired.

Bama;

You should have said....

It must be great to be so YOUNG and retired.

Robert got it right,,, retired while young.

Or as my son said to me when he was a first grader, I no longer work for the military because the miltary made me retarded. I would rather be working and have my health back. Late nights up because I can't sleep for the pain...not fun. But I can web surf and make amateur radio contacts around the world in the wee hours.

As for my son's observation, you can't argue with childhood logic.:roflmao

rray. Yes I know why you are up this time of the night. Have been to bed twice so far and nothing. Have to be at the VA at 9 this morning. There is no fun in this.

Yes Doug, and my wife has similar problems, but she can work about 20 hours a week. She sleeps, I surf and get on the radio. I'm doing some late night troubleshooting on my new weather station and webcam server. Trying to strike a balance between feeding a lot of information down the pipe and overwhelming the system, I've been having to throttle things back a bit.

Good luck at the VA. The last two times I've been to the VA clinic in Pensacola my appointment got cancelled while I was enroute. At least they gave me the $5 travel pay each time, since it was not my fault. The $5 will get me a burger before I head back for the hour trip back home.

A buddy of mine on the Armed Forces Radio forum sent me a note, they are contracting out some of the radio services and public affairs slots in Baghdad. Jokingly he suggested I apply for the job (my health would make me ineligible, but I DO miss the job) When I told the spousal unit, she was not amused...:rolleyes:

Nice rig you have, especially towing that fiver. I'm still doing renovation work on my fiver, adding more house battery capacity so I can watch television while parked at the Flying J or Wal Mart for a quick snack and a snooze.
Everything is 12 volts but the satellite receiver and the TV, those run on an inverter.

My true home away from home, I even camped out in the backyard over the weekend. The air conditioner can run you out of there with the cold..... It IS time to go camping!
