Howdy All,
Well I got the oil cooler put back together and bolted into place. I fired it up and let it run for about 5 minutes. There was no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil. If it was going to mix it would have done so pretty quickly right?
All in all it was not a bad repair job. If anyone here in the D/FW area needs to replace / rebuild one and needs help, let me know. I would be happy to lend a hand. The seals were rock hard and cracked. It was easy to see where the oil had been pumping out. This link shows some of the junk in the cooler:

Total time involved was about 5 - 6 hours. Part of that was figuring out how to separate the ends, and then cleaning it up. Here are some more pictures of the days events, and a disclaimer yes there is a jack stand and a 3 ton jack under the truck:

Hey Crumm,
Trust me the over spray does nothing but enhance the bed of the truck, and covers some rust. This truck had been used for construction work prior to me going to nursing school. In May I get a slotted V-neck tail gate. It's kind of nice to have it as an additional "work bench". The slotted tail gate will not be used in the same manner.
