Howdy all,
The oil leak form my oil cooler has become unbearable. Has anyone removed thier oil cooler and replaced it or rebuilt it with new seals? If so how did you take it off? Just from looking at it, removing the inner fender wheel well appears to be the best route. Is this correct. Do I need to remove the exhaust manifold on the drivers side to get to it? I looked for this under WIKI but didn't find anything.
Thanks,
Craig

I had mine off to replace the oil filter header. The only part I had to remove was the header itself (after draining the coolant!). I think Renegade had some good photos of the parts and R&R (here's the "link"). If it were me, I'd probably replace the front header gasket while I was doing it, unless you know it's not leaking. Parts:

Oil Cooler Housing Gasket (front)
(Ford) F7TZ-6A636-AAA
(International) 1831666C1

Oil Cooler Header Gasket (rear; oil filter end)
(Ford) F4TZ-6A636-AA (97-up)
(Ford) F4TZ-6A636-B (96-before)
(International) 1831665C1

Oil Cooler O-Rings (one each to seal cooler at each header)
(Ford) E3TZ-6C610-A
(Ford) E4TZ-6K649-E
(International) 1807563C1, Inner 1804414C1 Outer

Powerstroke.com has a nice price on a kit with all the parts for this job. Cheers!
