Tach moves, pcm sees rpm but...................After 10-20 seconds of cranking I can only get 300 PSI from the ICP. It takes a good 10 seconds to register any PSI starting at 15. Once at 300 PSI, it will jump from 300-315.. If I unplug ICP, it still won't start. I am thinking HPOP or ICP sensor. Any thoughts???

IPR valve stuck open or the wire to the IPR broke or off the solenoid? Or, possibly you have a poppet on an injector with crud in it. Go to the 94-97 forum and see Kansas Diesels lengthy thread on a very similar subject.

Are you reading the pressure with a scan tool or a mechanical guage? If it's a scan tool I doubt it's the sensor since it's reading something.

Could be IPR stuck dumping HPO or one of the injectors has trash in it and is stuck dumping HPO also. There's a post in the OBS forums where KansasDiesel had an injector dumping oil, I think he was getting 0 psi for a HPO reading.

Very interesting post. I did the injector buzz test twice, and all was well....... It seemed like he buzzed them, then checked the clearence when one was weak. Is it possible for a bad HPOP to cause my problem?? IPR replaced maybe a year ago. I can replace it and find out-I got a spare. But I don't know how else to get more PSI from the pump............

I do get a reading of about 300 PSI, it just takes 10 seconds. My data is coming from a Scan tool

I would suggest popping the valve covers and seeing if you have an injector spilling oil all the time while cranking. KD's did buzz OK and he still had a problem with one.

I cant really imagine a bad HPOP. Not without some kind of advanced warning such as frequent CEL's for injection pressure.

I had the 1211 code since I got the truck. It does not throw the light since jody tuned it last. The truck felt like a dog on the way to work today, I was beated by a 1/2 ton Suburban on the way to work-that never happens-and I was on the highway!......I parked it for 12 hours, then went to leave and I'm stuck. So we have a stuck IPR, or an injector spilling the oil. If the injector spills oil, will I be able to get 300 PSI after extended cranking?
