Newbie with some questions

Hello everyone, I am going to be buying a new truck probably within the next 6 months and I would like some advise. Right now, I am driving a extended cab 4X4, Ford Ranger, and it's time to upgrade to a full size.
I am looking at buying a F250 or 350, 4X4, Crew cab, short bed. However, I am unsure of which year/motor to look for. I would like to get some insight as to the pros and cons of both the 7.3 and the 6.0. Also, any information about the Super Duty in general (drive train, front ends, etc.) that may sway which year I will look for will be greatly appreciated Thank you in advance.

You need to tell us what you'll be doing with your truck. I choose a 7.3 l because I wanted a well proven engine with many mods available, and most of all because I wanted to run on straight vegetable oil.

So, tell us, will you be doing towing, mud-boggin, a lot of engine moddin or something entirely different?

Thank you for the insight. I won't be doing anything crazy with it, occasional towing (smaller trailer with a couple of street bikes) but mainly just a daily driver. I live in Michigan and this winter has been record breaking, so snow will be inevitable, not really into mud-boggin anymore.

Combination of city/highway driving, not looking to do too much in mods, tuner, exhaust, and eventually a 4 inch lift with 35's.

In that case, I would recommend one of the late-year F-250 7.3s. Then again, I don't have any experience with the 6.0 (or any F-350), so for knowledge on those, you need some of the other guys advice.
