That is the MAP sensor, you need to "TEE" into that line with your boost guage and hook the hose back upto the MAP sensor.

Stock boost would probably be in the 15-17 psi range if no other modifications have been made to the truck yet.

Its teed but the gauge flutters above 10psi we have 1/4in vacum line going to the gauge and the sensor.

some fitting is loose most likely if you're fluttering that low. check all of the fittings and make sure your tee is clamped in good with hose clamps.

The other thing that can be done is a restriction placed inline to reduce the level of flutter that is inherent due to the small volume that is compressed and the opening & closing of the valves. Unfortunately I've only read about them never actually installed once since I don't see flutter until I'm over 30 on mine.

yup around 15PSI max is stock boost.if you want more boost you need to add more fuel.first get a TYMAR or a DIY tymar intake and then a pyro gauge to keep an eye on EGTs.then get a chip from one of the site sponsers,i highly recomend www.beansdieselperformance.com .after the chip if you need more power get a set of performance injectors, again i highly recomend beans diesel for those as well.
