New SuperDuty tail gate?

does anyone know if teh new style tailgate with the step that folts out of it will fit my 2000 superduty?

i would love to have a step and a handle. i am in and out of the back of my bed 20-50 times a day.climbing in and out of a truck that big sucks after a while.

If that new bed would just pop rite in i would be in buisness.

Yes it will. The beds are the same except in a few areas, header panel and something else I can't recall. The tailgate and tail lights will work on our trucks. That's strait from the manager, of the body division, of the Kentucky plants mouth at The State Fair of Texas.

I too have the dream of owning an 08 tailgate (and mirrors for that matter). I've been to the dealership and the tale of the tape says that the bed and tailgate dimensions have NOT changed. the only thing I saw that are going to be an issue are:

a) the lock will obviously have to be swapped from the old to the new.

b) and if you run a a fiberglass camper shell, where the back glass seals against the tailgate,(like I do) you will have to trim the lower half of the glass or order an '08 rear glass assembly since the new step gate has a flat top and a lip similar to the GM tailgates. I could do without the stripper pole mounted in the gate but, we'll have to look under the skin to see if we can delete that.

1-'08 tail lights?
2-'08 interior door panels?
3-I dig the new back window, no gasket!
