First off I'd like to give a little background about myself. I've always been a gear head. I've always been a GM person esp. Pontiac but I do own chevys.I still have the first car that I started to restore @ the age of 13 and finished @ 20. it's a 67 firebird that was torn down to the buck and put back togher with the factory engine ,trans, wheels, rear end mothballed so I could make it fly. Other cars I've done and still own :

76 TA w 455HO All original #s matching
65 GTO #s matching in need of resto
84 vette Modded no more X-fire injection crap built 350 w/carb
84 Nissan 300zx W/an infinity block , custom internals ,mercedes 78lb injectors,93 cobra mass air flow , 3-4 garrett turbo.
85 SVO in middle of redoing
85 Mercury capri Finished in the end of 06
85 Z28 tunedport injected Factory
85 Z28 no engine trying to find a way to keep it from twisting due to the 350 twin turbo I've built for it.

Yes I know i'm like sanford and son but atleast their all garaged and most of them have been gone through.

As far as trucks go It has always been GM gassers ummm that is until now. I've recently got an 01 F350 powerstroke CC DRW 8' box auto tranny. I love the damn thing. You'll be happy to know that since I've got this thing BOTH the pickups GMC and CHEVY have been parted with..

Now for the Questions:

1 excuse the stupid questions this is my first diesel

2 the obvious failures ( signs / symptom) What to look for etc.

3 necessary upgrades ( NECESSARY ) not extreme right now. I'm sure this will end up like everything else and be addicting like crack.

4 Preferred lubricants etc.

5 anything I left out...

Any and all input is greatly appreciated ;)
Thanks for putting up with the rambling.

Dave

Welcome, Dave! Glad you found us.

When you get a chance, you'll have to post up pictures of the truck and cars. Especially the 65 GOAT! My dad still drives his first car...65 LeMans ragtop. I like them old Pontiacs, too!:sweet
