Just wanted to introduce myself. I've had my 2006 Amarillo for a little over a year now. It's completely stock, right down to the original wheels. It's my daily driver/tow rig, so getting crazy with things probably isn't going to happen. I figured I'd join just to get some ideas on simple improvements I can make. My first passion is my Jeep and my bike in terms of hobbies, but that doesn't mean the short bus doesn't need some attention as well. Mostly interested in cosmetic changes, but the thought of a tuner has crossed my mind. It's just that I've heard horror stories about the 6.0 and have had some issues with mine already, so I don't know if I want to go that route or not. Besides, it's pulls my trailer and my Jeep just fine as it is, so I don't really need it to do much more. Man, it sucks being mature sometimes. Anyway, glad to be here and hope to learn some stuff.

:SDD2 Beersnob. If I had your toys, I would leave the truck Stock, for now at least. Tuners can cause the head gaskets to fail if you are not careful. I would add real analog gauges for the Tranny Temp, Boost and, most important, the Exhaust Gas Temperature. If you monitor the gauges, you will get a good sense of what is normal and what is not. The EGTs don't want to be run much over 1200° F for any period of time. Pistons melt around 1230° F. There are many here that will tell you that you can go higher, and maybe you can. Remember it is YOUR TRUCK and not ours. If you have any other questions, just ask.

Dave :)
