Hello, I've read some of the great advice on this site that makes my mechanic seem like a complete amateur. I have an charcoal gray 03 F-250 SD crew cab 6.0L with black interior with carbon fiber inserts. I love this truck! I bought it with 38k miles on it & have put on about 100k since owning it. It has rarely had an issues which seems rare with early 6.0Ls. The first year or two that I owned it I almost never had to plug it in to start it in winter ( I live in wisconsin). Lately if its below 15 degrees over night it either wont start (unless on the plug) or I have to cycle the plugs a couple times before it roughly & loudly starts. Yesterday I ran the battery dead trying to start it. Any ideas what could be the issue? Thanx for this site!

Could be a Few things. could be you glow plug module, glow plug wire harness/bus bar. or a few glow plugs are dead. they are kinda a pain to do if you never done them before. let me ask you! do you have a muli meter?

OK well in that case i would check the resistance from each glow plug wire haness. if not sue how to. find the glow plug harness connector. one on each side of the engine. unplug the connectors. put the multi meter on ohms. put one lead on battery negative and the other lead on each pin in the glow plug harness. the one that show a differant reading are the bad ones. Anymore questions let me know man!!!
