Hey guys

I have been looking at F250 and F350 for a while now. I plan on towing a gooseneck trailer and horse trailer and a 5th wheel camper. i know i want a 7.3L but im not sure what all years came with the 7.3L.

so i guess im looking for info

what years did the 7.3L come?

How hard is it to find a 4 door short bed?

what are some problems the 7.3L has?

how much power can i make with 7.3L? and how am i making it?

are there any major problems with high mileage trucks?

I know i am asking alot im just trying to learn more about these trucks.

i have a ford ranger now i know that thing inside and out.

thanks again

:SDD Cam. The 7.3 is a bullet proof engine that was put into these trucks until 2004. Any year from 2003 back to 1999 had these in the current body style. There are a variety of horse power ratings and you will have to look around to see what you want. There are a lot of good people here who will steer you straight on these motors.

Downey, first off I want to say Welcome to SSD.com, glad you found us and there
are a lot of helping hands on this site. Then I would say that 600RWH and 800 FP. TQ.
Sounds like a Oxymoron to me when you add in that you want to get 20 MPG.

Welcome.

I'm happy with my 7.3. -A real workhorse. Has some problems with oil spillage, though, but I guess this is pretty common with most of these big rigs...:dunno

lol i guess im wondering if there is a tuner that i can have a nice bump in power but be able to put it back in a stock tune or a mph tune and get good mileage but still be able to make big power when i want to tow. you know what i mean?

can anyone answer my ?

Yes.. There are many tuners out there that can be switched "on the fly" that will give you Economy and Power.. when you need it.

The key to these things is to open them up and let them Inhale & Exhale, then do some things to tweak a bit more Efficiency out them by fixing some of the "not so good things" that they came stock with.

As you look 'round on SDD.. take a look at the Signatures everyone has.. Ask for explanations of all the acronyms (;))... We're here to help.

OBTW.. WELCOME TO SDD ;tu
