In stock form the truck will handle this just fine, with a few mods and a little $$$ you will be leaving the 08's in your dust.

This truck has 155,000 miles on the motor the tranny was re-built about 3,000 miles ago with everything done to it. The guy had a larger torque converter put in it also. What kind of a chip or system do you think would be best for this truck??
