Unfortunately I need to replace all 6 of my 225 70 R 19.5 tires due to dry rot. They only have 36K on them, but are 1999 vintage. I have been pricing a number of brands and needless to say none are cheap.I have looked at the following and would really appreciate any input/experience that anyone may have had.

General LMT 400 F rated 16/32 Thread depth. (This is what I cuurently have)
Bridgestone R250F rated F 15/32 Thread depth
Dunlop SP342 rated D/F 16/32 Thread depth ( not sure what the D/F means)

I will be towing a 18K 5'r and I really want to get the best bang for the buck.
Thanks for the help.

Chief2,

I am running Michilen LTX and love them so far. Good wear at 10,000 miles so far and little road noise.

I just put a set of 285x75x16 BFG A/T's on my 01 SD 4x4. I have used BFG's on several other trucks and had great luck with them. The tire tech put the heavy duty E rated tires on my truck, I was going to get D rated as I don't pull HEAVY loads. They were about ten bucks a tire more so the price quote he gave me earlier didn't match. He finally came around and gave me the D price rather than chance the tires out.

although the Dunlop's 48mo casing warranty is tempting, also...

i have averaged around 50,000 miles on 3 sets of BFG's 265/75R/16's

they have been good tires for me.

i would like to try some NITTO terra grapplers one day tho.

I run oversized mud tires on my truck but I would go with michelins they cost a little more but they seem to last for a real long time and provide decent all-round traction. I've seen some with 60,000+ miles on them and only replaced them because they were weather checked.
