They are sooo stiff it hurts my eff'd up neck, but I like the ride height.
Should I take 'em out and just add steel spacers under the stock leafs for proper lift?
Any ideas?

For the back springs...sure but NEVER for the front. High speed turns will put multiple stresses on the blocks in the front that the rear will never see. If the stress is strong enough from multiple directions, the suspension could spit those blocks right out. There was a good one-page blurb about this in the August issue of Petersen's 4 Wheel and Off Road. If you have the cash, I'd dig around and see of there might be a coil and shock conversion for your truck. That might smooth out the ride. You should do a bunch of research first before dumping a bunch of money into it to make sure you will get the right results.

I second the add a leafs! I have had them under mine for 4 years now cause I had a plow on it. Now that the plow is gone I should take them off. Mine are by rough country, should be rough ride!

You can take them off and get a set of spring hangers or a reverse shackle kit for the obs. It will lower the spring hang point so you get the height with the factory ride.

I called "OFFROAD UNLIMITED" about their reverse shackle kit, but they said it was only for straight axles, not independant front suspensions like mine! Bummer huh? Any more ideas? Been thinkin bout makin' my own drop hangers/shackles/reverse kit... Does anybody else make long shackles?

My first recommendation would be to switch over to a straight axle as that is the best front end mod you can do. If a axle swap is out of the question then check out sky-manufacturing, they make a reverse shackle kit for the TTB front-end.

lifted

i just recently lifted my truck and used skyjacker springs front and rear. i was really suprised the 6inch springs that i got ride better than my stock ones did. maybe buy new springs with a smaller lift, if 6inch lift isnt your thing.

I agree as well,

I purchased my truck with them on already and on some small bumps I darn near nock my teeth out. I've considered taking them out but it looks to good :). In the future going to have to get something that gives a nice ride. I think 6" might be a bit to much do they make anything a couple less?

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm gonna look into all of them. Maybe at the junkyards for a straight axle and check out those reverse shackle kits crumm mentioned too, or maybe I can get a set of 4" lift front springs that aren't as stiff as my stockers with the add-a-leafs (wheew, there goes another filling)!
