I gotta figure this out. Some days it is slugish and slow..........other days it runs like a scalded ape!!!

Might be the following:

Air in fuel............but I have done all the fuel mods.

Weak fuel pump.............but why would it run strong some times.

PCM or chip..............pulled my chip yesterday and put it back in. Today it just hauls arse!!! Even the shifts are better.

On edit I am getting hotter egt's so I know its not just my imagination.

My first guess would be the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve is sticking/intermittant.

Checked for codes???

Next time it takes a dump route the fuel pressure gauge outside the hood temporarily to take some readings.

Got the fuel pressure gauge in place................

Regulated return pressure is set at 72psi and the lowest I have seen it drop to is 65psi at WOT.

The truck is running good right now so I will leave it on a couple of days and see what happens.
