Surfing along and computer will make a ding-ding-dong sound and the mouse will quit working. Have to restart the computer to get it working again. After restart it works for a while and then does it again. What is going on? New mouse control virus out there?

It doesn't have any batteries. Tried another mouse and now Explorer keeps shutting down. I think I am being invaded. Mouse is a Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical that plugs into a USB port. One I am now trying is a cheapo that plugs into the round mouse plug-in.

Now I had to log-in to SDD. I have not logged in for a long time. Confused ..... very confused....

Just checked other forums I visit and sure enough I have to re-log into them too. Guess cookies or whatever they are got cleared.

I feel a big computer crash coming on.......................................................

Crumm, it just needs a cup of coffee, remember you live in Alaska and your mouse is frozen.

Have y'all kept up with your monthly maintenence on these machines(in this order)?

blowing the dust out
deleting cookies
running disc clean up
running spyware programs
running scan disk
defraging
virus update/protection
empty TMP files

If not set aside some time to do it. Some steps could take anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours so don't get in a hurry.

Man i have 6 machines in our house that i maintain...i run virus & parasite
scans EVERY SINGLE DAY and they STILL get hosed !

problem is when they get hosed they get hosed BIG TIME !

the problem for me is USER EDUCATION...."if youre not sure dont click it"
seems to get ignored...this latest one got messed up by one of those
bogus windows (that LOOK like a legit window) w/in the browser !
