I want more power but no Smoke. Is this possible? With my chip on the low setting I get no smoke and decent power. On the upper two settings the power is much better but it smokes like a freight train. I have been kicking around the idea of a set of injectors but most the posts I read are about all the cool smoke they make. With my recent birthday I guess I am just a old fuddy-duddy but 95% of the time I don't want smoke. A big old cloud of smoke makes a truck look like it needs tuned up in my opinion. I do like the occasional smoke cloud for when the little ricer needs some smoke cover but just on one setting. My burns are from Bill back when he was in the business(about three years ago). Are there smoke free burns out there now? What about with bigger injectors?

:thanks

bigger injectors, more fuel, more smoke....that's the nature of the beast.....but smoke can be controlled with more air. with any power burns on the chip, until the turbo spools up and pushes more air, you will make smoke. A set of Bean's 130cc tranny savers or the 160cc stage ones, open air filter, free flow exhaust, and a 1.00 housing as verses the 1.15 stock housing with Tony Wildman burns custom tuned to your specfic driving style will controll how bad it'll smoke. The 1.00 housing will spool faster @ lower rpm's than the stocker, so more air is available down low...Check with Tubzz, Wanda just blew up the turbo on her truck with a 1.00, bet he'll make you a good price:) :)

yup what he said
put in more air, (better intake and intercooler) then more fuel( bigger injectors, better flow rates) to burn in the added air , you get more power with no smoke, then we can cool cyl temps, and add more air and fuel to get more HP. :D you know it never ends
smoke is just unburnt fuel pouring out the tailpipe, wasted BTU's

Yeah more air will make less smoke but I am just looking to change my programming to eliminate it. Call it low-budget smoke elimination :D Any recommendations on what burns to try? I want the power my high horsepower program from Bill provides with minimal smoke but I don't want to spend a pile of dough doing it. That smoke coming out the tailpipe is wasted money. There must be a setting just before the smoke starts rolling that makes the maximum horsepower that the given supply of air will provide...

my predator set at 65 made very little smoke, except if i nailed it right off idle,
then again at 3300, right before defuel

sounds like a phone call to to your favorite burner guy and do some one on one dial in to get it right

I had Tony reburn my chip last month........I now have less smoke and more power. Not sure exactly what he did. Might have been something with the fuel pulse width.

Crumm, the best bet is to contact either Bean or Tony directly and let them know your desired results.

I think you should get ahold of Wildman and get some up to date burns on your chip. I only have a tow burn, but it has more power and way less smoke than when i was running an edge evo with stock injectors. Also like stated above do a tymar or equiv intake and open up exhaust if you already havent.

I have the Tymar intake, Down-pipe and straight exhaust. The Specs link in my signature shows the mods I have done.

Sounds like a call to Tony or my local chip burner is in order :sweet
